  About Anita   Projects
Many years ago, when I was trying to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up, I was told to figure out what I loved so much, I would do it for free.

Ever since then, I have been trying to find a way to make a living reading!

I love to work with people who are writing their books. They are always so passionate about their material, and it’s really fun to be around people who are so excited about what they are doing. Editing books is a little like being a mid-wife—I get to help usher each author’s “baby” into the world. I remember how excited I was the first time I held my printed book in my hands; helping that dream come true for other authors is just as exciting, and I get to relive my own experience.

I may now be as close as I will ever get to following my true vocation. Here is a list of my current projects; feel free to email me about any that grab your interest.

Hypoglycemia Hypoglycemia: The Other Sugar Disease
My first foray into serious writing, and my first published book, this was an exercise in “author, heal thyself.” The sales of the first edition emboldened me to release a second, adding a wonderful Hypoglycemia Workbook, contributed by my friend and colleague, Cathy Wylie.

For more information about hypoglycemia, and how to get your hands on the book, visit www.theothersugardisease.com.

Grandma's biography Grandma’s biography
My current (unpaid) project is a biography of my grandmother, a prairie wife and mother of nine(!) I have always admired her and, more than anyone else in my life, tried to emulate her. As with most things worth doing well, this book has taken more time and effort than I ever imagined! That said, I’m feeling the pressure to finish—grandmother is over 90, and she’s not shy about letting me know it's taking too long!

Check back here now and then—I will announce availability of the book right here.

How did you get your name How did you get your name?
My next book, currently in the research stage, will try to solve the mystery of how we get our names. Why do people name their children as they do? How do they choose the names their children will carry for life? Most importantly, is it child abuse to name your child “Krista Shanda Lear” or “Heaven Leigh”?

Please contribute to my research by sharing your naming stories at my new blog, “How did you get your name?”
